Heathcote, NSW

Heathcote is a tree lined and park filled suburb nestled between the beautiful bush land of the Royal National Park and Heathcote National Park, located 36km from Sydney’s CBD.

Heathcote is located on the Princes Highway, bordering the southern extremity of the Sutherland Shire. Fundamentally Heathcote is divided into two suburbs; the East, which is generally slightly more expensive, and the West, which has easier access to transport and shopping.

Heathcote shopping strip is home to an IGA, butcher, dentist, petrol station, mechanic, florist, and what locals refer to one of the best Thai restaurant in the Shire. Located a short drive from the shopping centres in Engadine, Miranda and Wollongong, locals are spoilt for choice!

Heathcote’s location is superb for transportation. A fast 50 minute trip into Sydney’s CBD and Wollongong is only a 35 minute drive – great for job prospects and students at Wollongong University!

Heathcote has a local childcare and number of respectable local schools, including Heathcote East Public School, Heathcote Public School and Heathcote High School.

Heathcote is an excellent area for families and from a real estate perspective, offers  affordable, smaller to medium sized federation homes on bigger land holdings than most suburbs within the Sutherland Shire.
